---------------------------- Sonnet on Diverse Intentions ---------------------------- Intention may mean a purpose pure and simple: A solitary walk at midnight's hour Through Amazonian acres, with the wimple Of darkness clad, where moonlight speaks with power. Intention may mean a loving consciousness Where every deed upholds our Mother's tent, As Carolyn the Wise might well address: Our smallest task can heal some painful rent. Intention may mean a covenant restrictive Of xenophobia born, by fear engendered -- Transmuting yet to scenes no longer fictive Of rainbowed gardens exquisitely rendered. Purpose and love may covenants refine, Attuning them to sisterhood's design. Margo Schulter 9 September 2014
